'On the occasion of Eid Al Fitr for 1430 AH and as per the orders of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, ministries, public authorities and other departments of the state administrative apparatus will remain closed from Saturday September 19th 2009 till the end of Wednesday September 23rd 2009. Work will resume on Saturday September 26th 2009. Working hours after Eid Al Fitr holiday will be as per normal timing prior to the beginning of the holy month of Ramadhan.

Sayyid Ali extended his heartfelt congratulations to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said on this happy occasion, praying to Allah the Almighty to protect His Majesty and grant him good health, happiness and a long life, return this occasion on His Majesty for many years to come and the Omani people and beloved country further progress and prosperity under his wise leadership and welfare for all Muslims.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri, Manpower Minister, also issued a ministerial decision stopping work in private sector companies and establishments from Sunday September 20th 2009 till the end of Thursday September 24th 2009. Work will resume on Saturday September 26th 2009.

The decision allows employers and employees to agree on work during the holidays if necessity arises.

All personnel working in the private sector have extended their heartfelt congratulations to His Majesty the Sultan on this happy occasion, praying to Allah the Almighty to protect His Majesty the Sultan and grant him good health, happiness and a long life and return this occasion on His Majesty, the Omani people and all Muslims for many years to come with welfare and blessings.'
